Page Project History What Is The Problem With The Existing Northbound Interstate 270 Ramp To Westbound Route 364? The existing loop ramp from northbound Interstate 270 to westbound Route 364 is not designed to handle current traffic volumes, which results in daily congestion. In fall 2003, approximately 3,200 vehicles were using this ramp. In fall 2004, more than 11,000 vehicles were using this ramp. There are also conflicts between vehicles merging onto westbound Route 364 and vehicles merging onto the ramp to southbound Interstate 270. This creates a "weaving movement" and contributes to congestion.
MoDOT approves redesign of the Page Avenue (Route 364) interchange Missouri Department of Transportation has approved a redesign for the ramps at the Interstate 270 and Page Avenue (Route 364) interchange as part of the Interstate 270 and Dorsett/Page project. Contractor Fred Weber, Inc. made the proposal under MoDOT’s Value Engineering program and the new design was approved by MoDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The new design includes a new direct dual-lane ramp from northbound Interstate 270 to westbound Page Avenue (Route 364). It also reduces impacts to Interstate 270 traffic during construction by eliminating the need to build the ramp’s bridge piers in the median of Interstate 270 and the median of Page Avenue. The new design will eliminate the current cloverleaf ramp and provide direct access to westbound Page Avenue. It also provides room for a future, currently unfunded, ramp from westbound Page Avenue to southbound Interstate 270.
